Position Summary
As the Manager of Strategic Sourcing for Facilities and Transportation, you will thrive in a dynamic environment, capable of navigating through challenges and inspiring your team with inclusive leadership. This role is crucial in transforming the Facilities & Transportation sourcing portfolio, enhancing partnership and service delivery throughout the organization. By identifying opportunities for cost savings, diversity initiatives, environmentally friendly supply chains, and supplier standardization, you will contribute to the portfolio's goals effectively. Your role will involve leading multiple spend categories and driving efficiency in sourcing processes.
This hybrid position allows for remote work with occasional visits to the Oakland office depending on business needs.
At PG&E, we provide a competitive salary range reflective of the position's local market. The exact salary will be determined based on various factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, and geographic location. All decisions regarding compensation will be made on an individual basis. This role is also eligible for PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Pay Range:
Bay Area - $140,000 to $207,000
Reporting Relationship
You will report directly to the Senior Director of Indirect Strategic Sourcing.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop strategic plans for portfolio and categories to achieve cost savings and service excellence, while optimizing diversity spending.
- Ensure thorough governance throughout the contract approval process.
- Oversee contract expenditure across diverse categories.
- Establish short- and long-term strategies for all relevant spend categories.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of innovative sourcing initiatives.
- Conduct spend analysis and business case development to assess needs and drive improvements.
- Formulate and implement effective negotiation strategies.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and uphold service level standards.
- Foster collaborative relationships with suppliers for mutual benefit.
- Establish accountable service level agreements for suppliers.
- Approve purchase orders and contracts ranging from $500,000 to $10 million.
- Supervise Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders, and Sourcing Specialists.
- Act as a change agent fostering team unity and purpose.
- Enhance team communication and decision-making through effective frameworks.
- Provide structure and momentum to evolving projects.
- Leverage Lean methodologies to influence senior leadership through data-driven insights.
- Facilitate clear communication across the organization to ensure alignment and transparency.
Background Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (1 year of experience for each year of college).
- 8 years of sourcing or related industry experience; specific technical experience may be required.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and implementation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
Desired
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Project Management and Utility industry experience.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in SAP/SRM.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
