Site Monitor - On-Call

LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Site Monitor for the Medical Respite Program at our East Bay Community Recovery Project (EBCRP) in Oakland.
The Medical Respite Program consists of 4 apartments with 15 bedrooms that surround a courtyard, and has a daily census of 27 individuals.
The program provides integrated medical and care management services to homeless adults most of whom are recently discharged from hospital care.
This is a short term (up to 45 days) respite facility providing 24/7 staff support.
We are seeking an On-Call Site Monitor for day, overnight, evening and weekend shifts in a 24-hour respite facility.
All site monitors will report to the Operations Manager.
Available shift hours:
This position will cover shifts for regularly scheduled employees who call off work or have scheduled vacation or leave time.
This position covers any of the following shifts throughout the week including weekends:
Evening:
Monday - Sunday, 4:
00pm - 12:
00 MidnightOvernight:
Monday - Sunday, 12:
00 Midnight - 8:
00amWeekends:
Saturday and Sunday, 8:
00am - 4:
00pm Compensation:
$21.
60/hour.
In addition to their hourly on-site rate, the On-Call Monitor staff will be provided a stipend for their availability during their shift.
Staff covering the Evening/Overnight shift will each receive $100 for one week, and staff covering the Weekend shift will receive $150 for one month.
If an On-Call Monitor staff is contacted to come in to provide coverage, they will receive their regular rate of pay for the time they are at the program in addition to the stipend.
If On-Call Monitor staff have already worked a regular eight (8) hour shift or more than 40 hours in a week, and they are called to come in for an On-Call shift, they will receive overtime pay for the additional hours they work in addition to the stipend.
In order to receive the stipend, On-Call Monitors must fulfill their agreement to be available for their chosen shifts.

ResponsibilitiesRemain alert and respond to the needs of the residents, providing a safe and welcoming living environment.
Help ensure the safety of residents by monitoring camera's and intercoms at regular time intervals throughout the shift.
Ensure the established structure is followed during the shift.
Assist residents as needed throughout the shift, including responding to crises.
Assist Residents in maintaining their recuperative health care plan.
Maintain the daily log of events during the shift.
For the overnight shift, prepare the breakfast areas, set the tables and follow breakfast preparation instructions given by the Food Service Manager.
Assist in waking the residents as needed.
Responsible for securing the facility and monitoring building access.
Participate in training and staff meetings as directed.
Professional conduct and professional code of ethics is required to ensure residents' confidentiality and safety.
Document appropriately in the staff log recording significant incidents and activities.
Participate in Shift Change Meetings.
Contact the appropriate respite staff in case of emergency, as well as assisting in an emergency e.
g.
law enforcement, fire and medical response.
Assist in the maintenance and up-keep of the residential facility as needed.
Ability to work with a respectful and welcoming attitude of patients who may have substance use, mental health, or criminal justice issues.
Conduct facility checks during shift, (i.
e.
, walk through and securing of the facility, and perform room checks as indicated.
Follow policies and procedures of both Lifelong-EBCRP and the medical respite facilityOther duties as assigned.
QualificationsStrong organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to be flexible and adaptive to change.
Ability to seek direction/approval from supervisor on essential matters, yet work independently with little onsite supervision, using professional judgment and diplomacy.
Work in a team-oriented environment with a number of professionals with different work styles and support needs.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and be culturally sensitive.
Ability to see how one's work intersects with that of other departments of LifeLong Medical Care, including EBCRP, and that of other partner organizations.
Make appropriate use of knowledge/ expertise/ in crisis situations when dealing with patients and other staff.
Ability to remain calm, act quickly, and provide appropriate assistance in crisis situations.
Strong interpersonal skills, reliable, committed and flexible to cover additional shifts as needed.

A minimum of 1 years as a facility monitor in a residential setting.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
