Legal Secretary

We have a 3
month contract position for a Legal Secretary.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of ProLaw is a MUST
Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
Knowledge of Lotus Notes/Lotus Notes Calendar
High school diploma.
Minimum of 5 years of legal support experience.
Must be knowledgeable in legal terminology, legal documents/forms, and local court/agency rules and procedures.
Specific practice areas may require associated specialized practice experience (i.e. corporate legal secretary, litigation legal secretary).
Job Description:
Supports attorneys and paralegals/legal assistants in day-to-day legal practice.
Manages general documentation, correspondence, and filing systems.
Coordinates scheduling and deadlines as matters require.
May be responsible for attorney client billing logs/reconciliation.
Looking for somebody with Legal and Prolaw background.
We are a high volume/fast pace law firm.
As a Trial Secretary, you will be responsible for organization and time management skills.
Must be able to multi-task.
Performing high volume legal and other secretarial duties for assigned attorneys.
Maintaining high volume schedules and calendars for assigned attorneys.
Coordinating time and location of multi-party appearances, including depositions, arbitration, mediation and meetings.
Contacting clients, witnesses, court reports, claims personnel and others to confirm scheduled appearances.
Answers telephone calls and receives visitors for assigned attorneys, receives all incoming mail, and performs other functions as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
