IAC Search & Media has a Software QA Engineer opening in Oakland, CA.
Participate in the QA processes and creation of testing tools for ensuring quality in all aspects of Ask.com systems. Advocate for adherence to best quality practices. Design, code, maintain, and extend automation testing frameworks across a range of different projects and teams. Automate wherever possible, from regression test scripts to deployment processes to metrics reporting dashboards. Anticipate team needs and proactively identify areas of improvement, efficiency, and new tools to incorporate into the quality process. Ensure visibility of efforts by designing methods of tracking and reporting quality metrics across all implementations to determine the effect of changes made to various systems. Provide guidance and support while bringing other team members up to speed on these processes and frameworks.
Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related technical field and 3 years experience in job offered or computer related occupation. Alternatively, will accept Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems followed by 5 years progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or computer-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. Experience with web applications, web services, Java, JS, J2EE, XML, and DB
2. Experience writing and executing detailed test cases, test plans and test design documents
3. Experience using data driven tests to validate API calls in J2EE architectures
4. Experience using test automation tools: jUnit or Selenium
5. Unix/Linux skills
6. 3 years in OO coding or OO white box testing in the area of web-based applications or OO Coding/Gray Box Testing
7. Programming experience in Java, C+
or any other OO language
8. Experience with SOA or testing component-based architecture
9. Experience working within a fast-paced Agile/SCRUM system
10. Scripting languages: PERL or Shell or PHP, or Python) and unit testing frameworks (Junit or TestNG)
11. Experience with CI tools (Jenkins or Hudson)
12. Experience with performance tools (jMeter).
