Ensures the efficient operation of the store by accurately and safely receiving, processing, and storing incoming products. Prepares, packs, and scans products for pick-up and delivery.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
o Quickly and accurately receives, processes and stores incoming product shipments.
o Ensures shipments are inspected and damages or shortages are noted on trucking company delivery document. Initiates freight claim procedure when necessary.
o Checks incoming delivery contents against packing list to verify accurate and full delivery.
o Prepares receiving reports and notes any shortages, damages or overages. Promptly reports any discrepancies to supervisors.
o Verifies vendor part number and company stock number for all incoming products. Determines proper bin number and/or location of incoming products. Stores incoming products in proper location according to bin number or product sequence.
o Selects products from inventory to fill customer orders.
o Prepares, packs, and scans (as appropriate), and stages products for inter-store transfer and customer pick-up and delivery in accordance with established standards (e.g. hazardous materials). Ensures that packaging is sufficient to avoid damage.
o Processes documentation necessary to ship inter-store transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests and other necessary documents.
o Loads delivery vehicles and assists customers with will call pickups.
o Processes customer returns. Ensures returns are in sellable condition per company policy.
o Verifies that warranty paperwork has been properly and neatly filled out. Initiates warranty return process, and stages product in warranty area.
o Performs periodic cycle counting on assigned items in order to keep accurate records of inventory. Verifies actual counts of stock against computerized records. Investigates and reports discrepancies.
o Ensures safety by maintaining cleanliness of warehouse. Ensures that aisles are free of potential hazards. Reports unsafe conditions to management.
o Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and other equipment safely and in accordance with organizational procedures. Monitors equipment and promptly reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
o Always wears protective equipment according to company policies and procedures. Accesses Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed and when appropriate.
o Maintains required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications.
o May drive delivery truck or van to transport items to other stores or customer locations. Maintains driver's license and clean driving record. Performs vehicle safety checks before driving.
o May assist with customer service and sales, including answering phones, greeting customers, and servicing the sales counter.
o May assist in annual physical count of full warehouse inventory.
o May assist with special duties and assignments as needed to support the efficient functioning of the store.
o Adheres to all company policies, procedures, standards and business ethics codes.
o Maintains professional communications when interacting with customers and coworkers. Treats all customers and coworkers with a helpful and courteous attitude.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
o High School Diploma / GED required OR equivalent combination of education and experience
o Clean driving record
o 6 months experience in warehouse operations in a wholesale environment
o Experience with computer or barcode driven inventory management systems
o Basic computer skills, including knowledge and skill in the use of inventory management systems and office software (e.g. Email programs, Internet browsers)
o Adequate physical strength and stamina to repeatedly lift, carry, move, and set down up to 75 pounds, climb and balance on ladders and equipment; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and reach, push, pull and manipulate. The employee is also frequently required to lift in excess of 100 pounds with mechanical assistance or the assistance of coworkers (accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions).
o Skill in operation of heavy equipment, including delivery vehicles, forklift, pallet jack, and order picker.
o Strict attention to detail, multitasking, prioritizing and maintaining follow through
o Problem-solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems.
o Ability to manage consistently in a time sensitive environment and meet strict deadlines.
o Excellent communication and customer service skills.
