Rainin Instrument, a subsidiary of METTLER TOLEDO, is looking for an experienced and self-motivated, Sr. Production Planner to join our Production Planning team in Oakland, CA.
The Senior Production Planner will develop and manage the production plan in conjunction with MRP outputs, department supervisors and managers, and the demand segmentation tool to provide maximum customer satisfaction while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Facilitate and direct production floor discrete job movement and record-keeping. Coordinate with all company departments to ensure production schedules and outputs are correct and will meet customer commitments. This position reports directly to Production Planning Department.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Manage and interpret ERP workbench and applicable planning information to create discrete jobs and purchase requisitions for assigned product families and support planning of all product families, while providing input to Master Schedulers and Production Supervisor/Manager on overtime and resource requirements.
Generates and interrupts ERP reports and action notices providing directions to applicable areas ensuring business requirements and customer expectations are met.
Manages, analyzes and interprets systems for non-standard production occurrences, including ECOs, customer expedites, short lead times, new products and implements solutions that affect all functional areas.
Thorough understanding of the company business system, analyzing, interpreting and revising data as required in assigned areas to continuously improve planning accuracy in modules including: Materials (Purchasing and Inventory Control, Master Scheduling and ERP); Engineering (Bills Of Materials, Production Shop Floor Control); and Customer (Data, Finance, Job Closings).
Analyzes and interprets work in process against job sizing, rescheduling and other constraints, striving to continuously improve quality, cycle times, schedule attainment, and cost effectiveness.
Provides direction and mentoring for production planners and others with a goal of achieving and maintaining a team environment of cooperation and support.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships within assigned teams and with all departments, internal and external clients as applicable.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree in business or technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
APICS certification or similar certification preferred.
Five or more years' experience in production/inventory control in a manufacturing or similar facility utilizing an ERP system.
Ability to Maintain effective internal relationships at all functions levels, requiring highly-developed negotiating skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and extensively with internal and external clients, while striving to meet customer needs.
Strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
