Staff will assist in effectively meeting the unique needs of young people experiencing homelessness in Oakland.

POSITION
Summary:
Clinical Therapist offers therapeutic services to clients through individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, diagnosis, and assessment.
This position will work out of two of our sites in Oakland, CA 94607.
CLASSIFICATION:
Full-time non-exempt 40 hours per weekPAY RATE:
$32.
00 hourly
Essential Functions:
Provides direct therapeutic services to all residential and drop-in youth.
Participates in case review team meetings among multi-disciplinary program staff and inter-agency teams providing clinical insight into the youth.
Provides direct clinical services of brief therapy, crisis intervention, family mediation, clinical assessments, and psychotherapy (group and individual).
Provides psychotherapy to homeless, at-risk, and trafficked youth ages 13 - 18 years old at our Dreamcatcher location.
Provides psychotherapy to homeless, at-risk, and trafficked youth ages 18 - 24 years old at our Oakland location.
Facilitates clinical groups for youth.
Ensures that Oakland Youth Services /Covenant House CA is adequately and consistently represented in the community, and service provider meetings related to direct services.
Assists the Director in the training of program staff regarding mental health and related issues.
Assures that in-house therapeutic services are efficiently and effectively coordinated with the entire service delivery team.
Participates in agency-wide committees as needed or assigned Provides written documentation that is complete, timely, and properly written.
Maintains data input in a variety of funding and program databases ensuring all data is current and accurate.
As our direct care staff works with youth that are 13 - 24 years old, we require that applicants are at least 25 years old.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Social Work or Psychology.
CERTIFICATION:
Licensed Clinician - MFT, LCSW
Experience:
One year or more previous clinical experience with at-risk 13-18-year-old youth who have homelessness, sex, and labor trafficking issues.
Experience working with a diverse staff and client population.
SKILLS:
Clinical knowledge of trauma, PTSD, and brief therapy, crisis intervention, and family mediation.
Excellent organizational skills.
Documentation and familiarity with databases.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General business/office environment.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
on occasion, bend, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Some weekend/holiday work may be required.
This position will work out of 2 Covenant House California locations in Oakland.
TRANSPORTATION:
Must have a valid CA driver's license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record.
