Why join the City of Oakland, Public Works Department, Equipment Services Division?The City of Oakland's Public Works Department, Equipment Services Division, is looking for two (2) Auto Equipment Service Workers to assist in performing routine maintenance and service on the City's fleet of automobiles and small equipment, along with routine repairs that do not require the expertise of a skilled mechanic.
Oakland is poised to experience continued growth and a corresponding upward demand for City services.

What you will typically be responsible for:
Performing road calls and addressing service issues with equipment.
Performing routine maintenance on automobiles and small equipment, including oil and fluid changes, filter replacements, changing and balancing tires, in order to uphold peak performance.
Safely disposing of hazardous materials and maintaining safe work practices.
Identifying equipment maintenance needs and placing necessary parts orders.
Maintaining daily log orders, materials, and completed services.
