42 an hour About us The Registrar of Voters is committed to a safe workplace.
The Registrar of Voters (ROV) is responsible for registering voters and conducting Federal, State, County, special and local elections for the County of Alameda.
ROV prepares the published notices of elections and lists of offices for which candidates are to be nominated.
It is the duty of the Registrar of Voters to accept and check the nominating petitions of candidates for office; prepare and print official and sample ballots in English, Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese; mail sample ballots to over 900,000 registered voters; recruit over 5,000 election officers voting locations within the County.
The Registrar of Voters is also required to establish and revise voting precincts, provide for the tabulation of returns on Election Night, and conduct the official canvass of votes cast.
ROV is required to check the signatures on initiative, referendum and recall petitions.
Finally, the ROV is required to provide voter education and outreach services year-round to maintain voter registration at the highest level possible.

On Election Day, we start as early as 5:

Overtime is mandatory for all employees.
Employees may be required to work overtime for several consecutive days or weeks at a time - includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Employees may be off for days at a time or sent home early if there is no work available.
All schedules are based on the workload and needs of the Registrar of Voters and can change at a moment's notice.

The Registrar of Voters is unable to accommodate requests for personal time off and schedule conflicts.
Audit, proofread and enter confidential information into multiple databases.
Skills needed include responding to requests at a moment's notice, understand and execute written and verbal instructions, data entry, customer service, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, handle high volume of incoming calls, and lift 15 pounds.
Requires the ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
